Identification Mission of the Second Phase of the disarmament project in Mali

The overall objective is  peace and security consolidation in the Tombouctou region in particular and in the North of Mali in general so that the war arms are detained exclusively by the armed and police forces.


Concretely:


 


Identification study of the 2d phase of the support project to arms recuperation process, in the Mali communes. It takes into account experience and weaknesses of the experimental phase to assure a preventive action to conflicts in the frame of an institutional and operational support to the local and responsible institutions.


 


In the actual political context in Mali in terms of fight against light arms proliferation, the mission objective is to produce a file which will enable the Belgian and Malian part to decide on the feasibility of the 2d phase of the project to support the arms recuperation process in the Mali communes and to proceed to its formulation.
