FWC COMM lot 3: Organisation of two EIDHR Fora in 2014

Overall objective:

The General Objectives of the EIDHR are to contribute to the development and consolidation of democracy and the rule of law as well as the respect of all human rights and fundamental freedoms, within the framework of the EU policy on development cooperation with third countries and consistently with the EU’s foreign policy.

The EIDHR is design to help civil society to become an effective force for political reform and defence of human rights by contributing to the continued stakeholder dialogue (at local, national and regional levels) and policymaker outreach in the implementation of EU policies in this regard.

Specific objective:

In this context, B&S Europe has organized two dedicated fora in 2014; the main objective of the assignment was to assist the EC with the organization and management of these two events.

1-       The first has brought together EIDHR focal points from the EU Delegations in third countries, in charge of implementing the instrument in the field. It focused on bringing qualitative support to ongoing work related to EIDHR implementation, with a budget to cover the travel and accommodation management of approximately 80 participants issued from various EU Delegations, plus 70 participants expected to be Brussels based or self-sustained participants.
