EU and Russian Journalists debates about challenges for media in digital age

Journalists of Europe and of Russian regions are meeting today and tomorrow (15-16 December) in the seminar “Threats and opportunities for regional media in digital age: EU and Russian perspectives on the freedom of expression in the 21st century”. The seminar, held at House of Journalists in Moscow (Dom Journalista), aims to share their expertise and experience in transforming traditional newspapers into online and multi-media operations, and in developing new business models for the converged media.

EU Aid Volunteers Initiative: training on Advocacy & Communication

In the frame of our project "EU Aid Volunteers Initiative: Training programme and Training of candidate volunteers", today took place a training for 25 volunteers on Advocacy & Communication.   

This project started in June this year. The objective of it is to develop the training programme for the EU Aid Volunteers initiative; to provide training services to candidate volunteers; and to assess the competences of the candidate volunteers trained pursuant to Commission Implementing Regulation No 1244/20144 and Commission Delegated Regulation No 1398/20144.

“Further Institution and Capacity Building of the Police Service in the Area of Border Management, Community Policing and Fight against Organized Crime” is a project funded by the European Union and implemented by B&S Europe Consortium in the period between December 2014 and November 2016, in close partnership with the Beneficiary - the Ministry of Interior. The total fund for implementation of project’s activities was set to EUR 1.700.000.

Kick-off of our project: Support to Free Legal Professions and the Bar Association in Kosovo

Today we marked the Opening Event of the EU-funded project “Support to Free Legal Professions and the Bar Association” in Kosovo. The Head of EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative in Kosovo Ms. Nataliya Apostolova and Kosovo’s Minister of Justice Ms. Dhurata Hoxha sat alongside the representatives of all the free legal professions in Kosovo and emphasized the great importance these professions have in strengthening the rule of law and increasing the citizens’ access to justice.

The United Nations Universal Children’s Day was established in 1954 and is celebrated every year on November 20th. This day aims at promoting international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare. The date of November 20th has been chosen as it is the date when in 1959 the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and later in 1989 the Convention on the Rights of the Child also on November 20th.
