On 6 May 2020, the National Safety Authority (NSA) in Libya destroyed approximately 8 tons of collected explosives.
With the ongoing conflict in Libya continuing since April 2019 and the continuous shelling on the outskirts of Tripoli, Explosive Remnants of War (ERWs) represent a direct threat to civilian lives. It is therefore essential that impacted areas are cleared of explosives after fights in order to avoid accidents and allow internally displaced persons to safely return home.
