Expert in GBV - Team Leader
  • Qualifications: Qualifications and skills
    · Master’s Degree Academic level or equivalent professional experience in the fields of Gender studies, Human Rights, Economics, Social Sciences, International relations, political science, development studies, law, or a relate discipline.
    General professional experience
    · At least 12 years’ experience in the sector related to the lot.
    · Good knowledge of international practices around prevention of GBV programmes and projects
    Specific professional experience
    · A minimum of eight (8) years of experiences in designing, implementing and/or evaluation of socio and economic development programmes or Gender Equality and Women Empoerment programmes.
    · Proven experience in designing or implementing gender based violence programmes
    for Government or development partners, with a particular attention on prevention and
    change of cultural and social norms.
    · Demonstrated recent experience in working with national gender policies in
    developing countries
    · Knowledge of the DR civil society sector, including women organisations will be an
    advantage.
    · Specific experience on gender equality and gender-based violence in Dominican
    Republic or other ACP countries will be an asset.
    · Proven experience in conducting related desktop research, systemic reviews and
    surveys in Human Rights, women's empowerment and gender based-violence issues
    will be an asset.
    Soft skills
    · Excellent communicator with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder
    relations/management;
    · He/she should demonstrate extensive experience in leading and coordinating working
    teams together with proven experience in co-ordinating joint research/ scoping and
    research processes and produce a consolidated report;
    · Good working knowledge of the standard Microsoft Office suite of programmes;
    · Sound knowledge of the preparation process of European Commission (EC)
    programmes including knowledge of logframes is an advantage;
    · Flexibility, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
    · Excellent research and reporting writing skills and graphical presentations
    Language skills
    · Proficiency in Spanish and English (writing, speaking, reading).

    · Master’s Degree Academic level or equivalent professional experience in the fields of
    political science, development studies, economics, law, social sciences or a related
    discipline or, in its absence, at least 15 years of equivalent professional experience.
    General professional experience
    · At least 12 years’ experience in the sector related to the lot.
    · Good knowledge of EU programmes and procedures and in particular formulation of
    external aid programmes.
    Specific professional experience
    · Proven experience in formulation and design of EU external aid programmes and in
    particular of social development programmes
    · Proven experience managing EU budget support programmes: sector policy support
    programmes’ review and assessment of eligibility with general and specific conditions
    versus disbursement indicators for the release of the fixed and variable tranches.
    · Proven experience in institution strengthening/capacity building programmes.
    · Solid understanding of the GBV context in DR or in the region, previous working
    experience in a related field will be an advantage.
    · Good knowledge of the DR government structure and policies will be an asset.
    · Knowledge of the DR civil society sector, including women organisations will be an
    advantage.
    · Sound knowledge on designing programmes based on the Rights-based Approach.
    · Proven experience in conducting related desktop research, systemic reviews and
    surveys, especially in the field of good governance and human rights.

    · He/she should demonstrate extensive experience in working in teams with proven
    experience in co-ordinating joint research/ scoping and research processes and produce
