NORTH MACEDONIA | Europe Day online regional youth talks

Is there a better way to connect the EU with youth than bringing them together to share information, ideas, and opinions? On 9 May, Europe Day, in the frame of our EU-funded project “EU with YOU”, implemented in North Macedonia, we  gathered 24 high-school students from North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Bosnia & Herzegovina with their peers (12 Young European Ambassadors) and with five ambassadors of the European Union in the region!

The online debate was hosted by a savvy moderator from Brussels, and focused the discussion around the European Youth Goal Connecting EU with Youth, as well as other topics.

The event was an opportunity to discuss existent law on youth engagement and youth policies, youth participation in decision making processes, the role of Young European Ambassadors in connecting young people with the EU, and how the EU and its institutions can foster in youth the sense of belonging to the European project. The ambassadors urged the participants to use the opportunities under Erasmus + as much as possible, and to work towards achieving the priorities of the European Green Deal.

The “EU with YOU” project aims at raising public awareness about the EU, its values, policies and programmes, and assisting the EU Delegation's public diplomacy activities under the “EU with YOU” branding (or further upgrade of the logo to “EU is YOU”) for the years 2021 and 2022.
