Kick-off of our project: Support to Free Legal Professions and the Bar Association in Kosovo
Today we marked the Opening Event of the EU-funded project “Support to Free Legal Professions and the Bar Association” in Kosovo. The Head of EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative in Kosovo Ms. Nataliya Apostolova and Kosovo’s Minister of Justice Ms. Dhurata Hoxha sat alongside the representatives of all the free legal professions in Kosovo and emphasized the great importance these professions have in strengthening the rule of law and increasing the citizens’ access to justice.
B&S Europe is leading the technical assistance team who will support the EU in this initiative. The objective of this project is to strengthen the judiciary by strengthening the Free Legal Professions and the Bar Association. This is the first project of this scope in the Western Balkans which covers all the free legal professions (i.e. lawyers, mediators, notaries, private enforcement agents, and bankruptcy administrators) and the Ministry of Justice within the same project. The specific objective of this project is to contribute in the reduction of backlog of cases, increase the efficiency of the judiciary, improve the access to justice and increase the public trust in the judiciary in the country.
