Further Support to Kosovo Institutions in the Fight against Organized Crime, Corruption and Violent Extremism

12/20/2017

Yesterday was the launching event for the specialised training activities that will be implemented by Carabinieri MSU as part of our Project “Further Support to Kosovo Institutions in the Fight against Organized Crime, Corruption and Violent Extremism”. The main beneficiary of the training activities is the Kosovo Police. During the event, the following were present and addressed the guests from multiple Kosovo Institutions involved in the fight against CVE, as well as the Carabinieri MSU forces, which will deliver the training:

  • Italian Ambassador to Kosovo - Mr. Piero Cristoforo Sardi,
  • Minister of Interior - Mr. Flamur Sefaj,
  • General Director of the Kosovo Police - Mr. Shpend Maxhuni,
  • Com MSU - Colonel M. Di Stefano,
  • EU Office Kosovo - Mr. Luigi Brusa,
  • KFOR - General Cuoci

The event was considered ground-breaking, as it is the first time that an EU-funded project funds and delivers specialised police trainings jointly with the Stabilisation Unit of a NATO mission – not only in Kosovo, but worldwide.
