EASTERN NEIGHBOURHOOD | Women’s Day awareness campaign
As part of the International Women’s Day (IWD) campaign, on the 8 March 2021, the EU NEIGHBOURS East project designed and launched a month-long awareness campaign – “EU celebrates women in the Eastern Neighbourhood”.
The focus of the campaign was on the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on women. During these difficult times, women are at a more considerable risk of losing jobs, and they are also taking care of children and other family members when working from home. The aim was to showcase how the EU addresses these challenges through the COVID-19 response package, funded projects, and direct financial support.
For the thematic campaign around International Women’s Day, the EU NEIGHBOURS East project produced TV reports (Azerbaijan, Ukraine), success stories (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), and launched two interactive quizzes as well as one podcast on gender equality.
EU NEIGHBOURS East is the EU Regional Communication Programme for the Eastern Neighbourhood (2020 – 2024) implemented for 48 months by a Consortium led by B&S Europe and joined by MMS Communications Belgium, Internews Ukraine and VO Europe.
